Tree Trimmer From Norwood Airlifted After Falling Nearly 15 Feet In Old Tappan

A 61-year-old Norwood man fell nearly 15 feet from a ladder while helping an Old Tappan homeowner remove a tree, authorities said.

Authorities were trying to determine whether he and another man had permission to be on the property before the mishap on Dewolf Road around 3:30 p.m. Sunday, March 26.

The victim fell 12 to 15 feet while trying to cut off a portion of the tree, Old Tappan Police Chief Joseph Tracy said.

Norwood EMS and paramedics from Hackensack University Medical Center tended to him before Atlantic Health Care One flew him to HUMC.

His condition couldn't immediately be determined.
